If you feel that your PC takes too long to boot up or is running too slow, then you should try InControl. It's a very clear and simple startup manager.

The 'Startup List' gives you access to all the programs that will start automatically when Windows starts. You can edit this list by adding or removing items and you can launch and stop applications running in the background. You can also create a black list where you can include the items you don't want to ever find in the startup list. In case you wish to revert to a previous state of the 'Startup List', you can use the 'History Viewer' for tracking the changes you've made before.

Besides having complete control over all the startup programs, you can heal your PC by cleaning-up non working startup items, fix applications paths or remove broken uninstallers. If you don't know where they are located, you can access directly some Windows features like 'Services', 'Registry Editor', 'Disk Cleanup', 'System Information', and so on.

The program is easy to use due to its well structured and intuitive interface. Beginners, however, can have a look at the 'Welcome Wizard' in order to get accustomed to the program's features as quickly as possible.

Pluses: You can edit the values of the entries; the option of creating a startup black list, shortcuts to important features of Windows; view environment variables and loaded drivers.
